The evening kicked off the Christmas family parties.
First off... a Wright family party.
(For those of you say, "Wright? I thought their last name was Huntington and isn't her maiden name Nixon? I know she was married before but that was the Breretons. I'm confused." Just know, so am I. The Wright family is Justin's ex-step-dad's family. Yea... it's complicated. As most families are. We just feel lucky to have so many people to love and be loved by.)
Genevieve adores being around people. Mostly kids, but she's happy with almost anyone. But at this party there were gaggles of kidlets. (Yes, it felt much like a barn yard.)
She was a bit overwhelmed and not sure how to be part of the group. It really stilled my heart to have her look up and around for me... as soon as I would nod she would go back to trying to interact.
Maybe my little one has a shy bone.
Not sure how to be part of the Nativity.
While I was getting ready, she saw me get on a necklace... We then dealt with a minor tantrum until we discovered the necklace she wanted to wear.
She has good taste. I'll let her wear pearls any day.
It's a tradition at the Wright family party to have Santa come a deliver a Christmas gift.
Genevieve wanted nothing to do with it.
The last tear hung on for a bit.
But Daddy can make it better. He always does.
